signal strength audio feedback won't work?

I installed a SWM 5LNB dish kit and I can't get the audio feedback feature to work to test my signal strength on my HR54 genie. I have dolby digital turned off per the Solid Signal blog but nothing I do will give me the audio beep I need. I found several older posts that say the audio feedback feature doesn't work even though it is on the satellite setup guide. Any advice will be appreciated.
