I have directv and I sometimes take my receiver to my cabin where I have a slimline dish installed (not sure which one but I dont think its swm). The dish has two coaxial cables that come into the cabin and connect to my DVR (i've noticed that it still works with only one plugged in). So I got a new Genie reciever (HR34) and the first thing I noticed was it only has one coaxial connection. When I attempted to install it it got through the entire process but then I got stuck on a screen that said SWM not detected. It would let me get past this screen and all it lets me do is chose a different dish type (the switch type is greyed out). I am totally new to all this but i think I might need a SWM switch. Does anyone know what I need to do to get this working and can I (a newb) do this myself?
