Hello, I am just setting up my first attempt at OTA. I purchased a 1byone 85 mile antenna and was able to get the 4 Boston channels I was trying to get with the antenna sitting in an upstairs bedroom. (ABC, CBS, NBC, & FOX). I added a second VHF antenna for ABC out of Manchester NH. When I moved the UHF antenna to the attic I lost FOX. The other 3 channels still come in perfect. I bought a Clearstream 4 today and tried it in the attic, the bedroom, and outside. I didn't get anywhere as good a signal as with the 1byone. With the 1byone I could get CBS without even aiming just kinda pointing it South. I couldnt even get CBS with the Clearstream 4. Anyway... I am looking for suggestions for a replacement antenna that will hopefully allow me to get FOX (cant miss any of those Pats games). I have about 50 feet of RG6 going to a Tablo DVR with no splits other than the combiner. I tried a Winegard 200 preamp but that made my reception worse with the 1byone, it did improve the reception on the Clearstream however. I also have an amp that came with the 1byone, I have tried with and without the amp and I always get a better signal with the amp.
It will not allow me to post a link to tvfool but my zip code is 03051 and the street name is Heritage Circle and the antenna will be about 25 feet above ground in the attic. According to an app on my phone my house is 351ft above sea level.
Any suggestions/recommendations?
Thanks in advance.
Craig
