Greetings!
Nice place you have here. There is lots of great details and knowledge. Based on feedback from the Solid Signal team of engineers, I am looking at a Solid Signal HD1080x antenna. I need some help choosing a mounting option. As you can see in the areal photo, I have a hip roof with no gable ends to attach a mount. Gutters are on all sides. The ideal location for the antenna is on the two story part of the house at the bottom of the image.
There are three options that I can think of for mounting the antenna. I can use a J Mount or wall mount next two the two windows you see in the center of the wall. The benefit here is that I don't have to put holes in the roof, but I am concerned that the walls have clapboard siding covered by foam board and vinyl siding. Will I be able to get a good, solid connection on the wall? The J-mount may not work as I am not sure what the clearance when mounted vertically. Will it clear the gutters? The other option is the EasyUp EZ30-12 wall mount. That should provide more than enough clearance. But again, I am not sure if it will be possible to find a stud behind the siding. The other option is to mount the antenna at the roof ridge. I can use a tripod mount to provide a solid, stable mount. This will also get me a few extra feet of antenna height.
Thanks!
Dan
