Hello, I am helping a friend connect a new (2014) Samsung Smart TV (SSTV) to a HR44.
The HR44 is in a separate room from the new SSTV (one wall separates them).
There is one RG6 on the back of the HR44. Does this connection both receive signal from the antenna, and send signal out to the clients?
I am not entirely familiar with SWM technology. As I understand, there should be a SWM switch somewhere. If the HR44 has a single RG6 connector, does it also act as a SWM switch internally, switching between receiving data and sending it out to the clients?
Where the SSTV resides, there are about 10 RG6 cables coming to it. Assuming one of them is somehow connected to the HR44, do I connect the RG6 from the HR44 to the antenna input on the SSTV to bring video to it, or must I use HDMI, composite or component inputs to bring video to the TV? If I can get video from the HR44 through RG6 to the SSTV, will I need to tune to channel 3/4? Can I connect a Ethernet cable directly from the HR44 to the SSTV (no router or switch)? Is this the only way to enable RTU functionality for the SST, or can the data be channeled through the RG6?
