I recently moved and Directv installed wireless genies in the new rental. Verizon was running behind so I did not have internet installed when Directv was here. I brought my HR34 with me and he continued to use that but installed 3 wireless genie clients in place of my older wired genies. I really like them but need help with my internet.
So now I have my FIOS up and running. I have the FIOS ONT active on the Ethernet port not MOCA to avoid a bunch of hassles I wont bore you with.
The house Im in has no cat 5 cable just RG6.
The Verizon FIOS ONT is in the garage and thats where my wireless router is placed. I have poor reception in the house particularly upstairs so the plan is to use Directv DECA/MOCA adapters to extend my network to add a router in bridge mode upstairs and downstairs.
I have read alot on MOCA/DECA and I have attached a picture and want to make sure this is going to work. I have seen a few diagrams that say any wireless router needs to be 8 feet away from the genie wireless router. Does anyone know what band its on? I could use some help picking which splitters I need to use.
Any help much appreciated.
