HR-24 internet connection question

Was at a friends house for the new year and kids wanted to watch something that was not on their DVR and I mentioned to use the on demand service from Directv to see if its available.

My friend said he does not have on demand. So the inquisitive side of me took over and we started looking into his system. Im no directv expert by any means but recently got my Deca network working in my house with the help of Stewart on SolidSignal so I felt like I could help out some.

So friend has an HR-24 in his main family room tv. I had him run the network test and he has no internet connection. I said then you need to have internet on the RG-6 using Deca or cat5 right into your HR-24. Looked behind TV and and he has two RG-6 cables that come into it. Looked at his dish and he has 5 RG6 cables going to it.

So 2 RG-6 cables to the to the HR-24. 1 cable to the Box in the loft area. 1 cable to the box in the master bedroom.

I have swim system which has the one cable so I was trying to remember how the multiple cable and switches work.

So how do I get him internet? I see the HR-24 has the built in deca adapter. Can I just put in a Deca-2 on the Rg-6 up in his loft where his other box is which is right next to his router? Do i need to use the wireless CCK?
