What uses can the usb port in a Direct tv L11 receiver migh have?

I found this Direct tv receiver the other day and noticed that it has a usb port at the back of it, then remembered that I've been trying for a couple of weeks now to make an Android tablet to send video/photos/mp3 to a Vizio tv without any GOOD luck, yet. The tablet has a usb port too, so I thought if the receiver might be capable of accepting multimedia contents via its own usb port and send it to the tv set. Could this setup might be put to work?

Otherwise, I don't have any other use for the receiver because I just don't have any Direct tv parabolic antenna.
