Trying to Achieve Working Outdoor Antenna Connection

I tested my new Televes Diginova Boss outdoor antenna, and it looks poised to perform. Hooking it up inside, it pulled in solid reception without amplification.

But, I have a setback in that I could not get a outdoor trial installation to succeed. In the trial, I just placed the antenna on an adjacent block wall near my cable box as I desire to confirm the connections will work prior to proceeding with roof mounting.

Inside the cable box (see attached photo), I have a ground block where (presumably) my cable service was connected. Then, I have an output wire from the ground block to the splitter on the right. I presume the two wires coming out of the splitter are feeding my coaxial cable runs though the house interior.

I connected the antenna to both the ground block input (red circle on left) and splitter input (red circle on right). Neither resulted in me obtaining reception in the house. I did not try the other ground block connections but logic indicated the one marked "input" was the only one to use.

I confirmed that when I terminated my cable service, there were no modifications to my cable box equipment.

The antenna was not amplified, but I did hook up the Televes amplifier when running the coax connection from interior outlet to television but to no avail.

Am I overlooking something? The OTA antenna in my area is just 14 miles away, and stations I can pull using a cheap, passive indoor antenna were not coming in when I tested the Televes outdoor connection.

Thanks!
