As the thread states, trying to determine if my experience and costs would be better calling up directv and doing a hardware upgrade....or going through a local installer.
I'm due for upgrades for sure. I just want to make sure I get the latest stuff and someone knowledgeable to do the installs. DIRECTV used to not guaranteed the device versions and was curious if there was more control to get latest stuff by going direct to the installer.
Cost wise too...do I need to go through DIRECTV to get discounts or do they tend to be the same or better through installers for existing customers.
I'm trying to get 4K stuff, like HR54 as well as update my genies which are wired to new versions and add in one wireless option. My 4K tv has a RVU option for Samsung installed too...hoping that is 4K compliant since it was bought last year.
Ok, enough rambling....thoughts?
