Right now DIRECTV Residential Experience customers use the RC70H remote which is very similar to the RC71 but is easy to spot because of the red buttons at the top (see them on this photo?
Now it looks like the RC71H will replace the RC70H. The only difference from the outside will be the model number, but the two remotes will not be interchangeable. Let's hope they have "WILL NOT WORK WITH YOUR HOME SYSTEM" in big letters on the back.
The whole point of the hotel remote was to reduce theft because people would not want them. Now it's going to be more important than ever to make sure people understand that their hotel remote isn't worth stealing.
