DirectTV, a well-known satellite TV service, is now a part of AT&T and it will be launching its 4K HDR coverage with NHL Network broadcast of live coverage and Direct TV will also deliver a mixture of different programs including sports, music and events in High Dynamic Range.
DirectTV will telecast its first 4K HDR live coverage with tonights Pittsburgh Penguins Vegas Golden Knights game that is scheduled to start at 10 pm ET. However, due to some complications, the 4K HDR telecast on NHL Network will not be broadcasted in the Pittsburgh and Las Vegas regions but regular telecast of the game will be offered in both the markets by the local RSNs.
In addition to this, DirectTV is prepared to broadcast 13 NBA games in 4K HDR this season which will start in the month of December for the match between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Milwaukee Bucks by NBA TV on the 19th of December.
Moreover, DirectTV is set to cover the event of Brian Setzer Orchestras 14th Annual Christmas Rocks concert from the Granada Theatre in Santa Barbara, Calif on Monday, December 18th at 8 pm.
Furthermore, DirectTV will deliver the following live shows in 4K HDR:
- Womens College Basketball University of Connecticut vs. Duquesne on December 22nd at 7 pm ET by broadcast of SNY
- The Toronto Raptors vs. Oklahoma City Thunder on December 27th at 8 pm ET by NBA TV
- The Annual Rose Parade with live broadcast of HGTVs coverage on January 1st at 11 am ET by HGTV.
It is worth mentioning that DirectTVs 4K HDR live coverage will have more quality due to its enhanced fluidity and clarity as it will be delivered at 60 frames per second with wider and brighter colors and more vibrant pixels.
Please note the fact that if your 4K TV does not support HDR then games will be viewable in standard 4K quality.
