I recently had an HR34-700 fail on me, and Directv shipped an HR44-500. I've got a setup with all receivers using the Ethernet port with LAN, and DO NOT want to go the MOCA route. The HR44 ethernet port is totally broken, no layer 1 connectivity at all. Is this a faulty HR44 (it is brand new) or has directv disabled the ethernet port on this model of receiver? If so, is there a newer DVR that has the ethernet port enabled?
FYI, my setup is as follows:
5 LNB AU9-S dish ==> FMC-6 w qty(3) SWM-6 ==> qty(3) HR34-700 and qty(3) H24-700
All HR34/H24 are fed via coax for video, and use ethernet port/LAN for whole-home and internet.
