I have a new Antennas Direct DB8E antenna and Channel Master CM 7777 amplifier.
When I use the combiner which came with the antenna and the replacement one which Antenna Direct was kind enough to send me I get 0 channels.
I ran a couple of experiments and results are below, all with amplifier installed-
Combiner- 0 channels.
Replace combiner with conventional antenna wire 2 way splitter- about 28 channel.
Attach lead from amplifier directly to the DB8E connector which is couples o 2 of the 4 antenna bays- about 33 channels
Remove amplifier and reinstall combiner about 6 channels.
The cable run from TV to power injector is 60 feet. The power injector is between the TV and the amplifier The injector is 5 feet from the amplifier. The amplifier is 3 feet from the combiner. The leads between the combiner and antenna are 3 feet. The orientation of the wires going into the injector is correct. The wire is RG6.
I live about 20 miles out of Boston which is where the nearest station is.
Has anyone run into this in the past and what did you do?
Is there a way to couple the 2 sections of this antenna without running it through a splitter so I do not loose signal?
