Story below - tl;dr first... is there any way to "recalibrate" a Satlook Lite? Any chance it is just "defective" in some way from factory? Bought it for the obvious luxury of running lnb off of battery but if it doesn't find what I'm looking for, what can I do to fix it? I scrolled through all of the dishes in the meter to verify I was on the correct one.
Last week we were installing a new system in one of our buildings to upgrade to HD. Used the new Satlook Lite purchased here last month and locked in at 99% after dithering; no signal on boxes though, once we came down from the roof and hooked the first one up. Tried another box to ensure there was nothing wrong with the first one. Thought for a moment, though highly unlikely, that perhaps a nut/bolt got left untightened and dish moved a bit so we went back up and reconnected meter. Straight to 99 again so the frustration began lol... repulled coax to roof and tried again... nothing. Quit for the day before I got REALLY upset
Next morning I brought in my Birdog, took it to the roof, connected to dish, /NOTHING/. Like an idiot I forgot my 1/2" wrench so I fetched it, climbed back up and started all over. Loosed azimuth bolts and turned it a bit, bam "found" 101 at 70something smh ... Loosened elevation to fiddle with it; ended up dropping 5-8° at most and got 98. Dithered, locked it down and tried it on the TV with the expected "perfect" results. Went back up for poops & giggles with Satlook and connected to (now working) dish setup. NOTHING. wtaf???
