HD Signal at lake house

Hi all,

We have had DirecTV for a number of years and have one of their smaller round dishes that gets regular HD programming. Our lake house is surrounded by many trees and even setting up the original satellite was troublesome for the first installer. We recently wanted to upgrade our satellite and box to HD but the guy we had come up said he was technically supposed to take our first satellite down because it was attached to a live tree and we also weren't able to cut tree limbs off while he was looking for a place for the HD satellite to go since it is pointed in a different direction. I was just curious which parts are needed for us to do this installation ourselves.

So far I found the SL5:

and an HD-DVR receiver box:

We would have to pay a DVR fee every month to DirecTV for this correct?

Also what would be the best way to likely set this satellite up? We were looking into pole mounts or something like that or possibly even hooking it up to a tree near our camp since we own the property. We are new at this but also have a family friend who is an electrician if we needed any help in that aspect. Ideally it would be best for DirecTV to help us set this up but it has been too much of a pain so far.

Thanks for any help.

EDIT: We also have a parking lot that is above our lakehouse with a decent view of the sky. Could we mount a dish up there on our shed and run 2-300 foot cable down to our camp? Would that work out?
